MEETING MINUTES - FEBRUARY 15, 2010

Tim Laushey, Sue (Nicholson) Laushey, Paul Stratton, Mary Ellen (Dailey) Vitsorek
The meeting was called to order at 6:15 PM by Buck Simpers
January 18, 2010 Minutes were distributed and approved.
Treasurer’s Report –
- Balance as of February 15 is $4,524.86.
- No additional donations to Ed Malin Scholarship Fund (Balance - $770.00).
Committee Reports
Fundraising – Mary Ellen Vitsorek and Connie Marro reported:
- Committee feels 4 events/year optimum number.
- The Alumni Committee would like to have the Phase I bricks installation occur prior to the April 17, 2010 5K Run/Walk so that a formal ribbon cutting ceremony can be held in conjunction with the event. Tom will contact Principal Pruitt to see if this can happen. Also, Tom will contact News Journal regarding press coverage.
- Discussion around having social events for all alumni
o Night or day of bowling at Pleasant Hills Bowling Lanes; Mary Ellen presented information regarding Pleasant Hills Lanes package.
o Homecoming - October
o Picnic – Class of ’64 – Banning Park – Sept.11
o Golf Tournament – June 4
- Will sell various items at all these events (bricks, license plates, car stickers, hats,
shirts, etc.).
Membership – Tom Skelly reported:
- Discussed use of class data bases and information sharing with Alumni Association.
- Connie Marro will send Tom Skelly the data base for the Class of ’65.
- Sue Lashey to share various class Reunion booklets she has picked up at the Reunions. Add names to data base.
- Buck will contact Ozzie concerning re-contacting Joan Enslen and Gail Pollinger about joining this committee
Events – No report.
Liaison/Mentor – No report
Communications – Tom Skelly reported:
- To date, 521 registered via website as of Jan. 26, 2010.
- Tom will contact News Journal regarding publicity for Brick Dedication – Jack Ireland or Kevin Tresolini.
Museum/Historical – Sue and Tim Laushey reported:
- The group discussed the vision of an archival time line of shadow boxes at Conrad. There also was a discussion of the security issues of the display.
Tim and Sue will contact Conrad Librarian to discuss requirements.
Unfinished Business - none
New Business
Paul Stratton pointed out that the Conrad 75 year anniversary is in 2011, which coincides with the 1st graduating class of the Conrad School of Science. He suggested we form a committee to come up with ideas for the celebration. Tim suggested a Conrad Anniversary T-shirt, possibly designed by the students, with a prize for the winning design. Buck suggested that the Alumni Association should be involved in all future graduations.
A motion was made by Paul Stratton to adjourn the meeting and seconded by Sue Laushey. Approved.
Meeting adjourned at approx. 7:45 PM.
